Mathilde Loubes

Trained at the Gobelins school in Paris, Mathilde Loubes has developed a graphic universe defined by softness and shadow, where illustration and animation constantly inform one another. She co-directed with Antoine Bonnet the short film Un Diable dans la Poche (2019), followed by L'Heure Bleue (2022), an animated work produced for the Paris Opera's 3rd Stage platform, set to music by the Berlin Philharmonic. Her work as an illustrator and director has led her to collaborate with artists such as Polo & Pan, Gorillaz and Breakbot, and in 2023 she created the Google Doodle in tribute to France Gall. Her illustrations, commissioned or personal, carry a poetic and immediately recognisable sensibility.
